As a devoted Christian for over two decades, Sabrina Brown believed she had a close relationship with God. However, the journey she embarked on would deepen that bond even further. In August 2008, at the age of 36, while conducting a routine breast self-exam, she discovered several lumps in her breast, prompting her to schedule her first mammogram. Over the next three years, despite being closely monitored by multiple physicians, no issues were detected, with the tumors being attributed to caffeine consumption. However, in December 2010, changes in the tumors prompted a biopsy recommendation, but weary from years of uncertainty, Sabrina opted for a lumpectomy, successfully removing the tumors in March 2011.

Subsequently, the tumors were found to be cancerous, leading to a diagnosis of stage two ductal carcinoma invasive/non-invasive breast cancer, necessitating a double mastectomy. With unwavering support from her husband and family, Sabrina underwent the surgery within weeks. Given that some of her lymph nodes were also affected, she endured four rounds of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation.

Despite undergoing fourteen surgeries and nearly five years of treatment, Sabrina has been cancer-free since May 2012. Her steadfast faith served as her cornerstone throughout the arduous journey, helping her navigate the darkest of times. Grateful for the person she has become and the strengthened relationship with her Lord and Savior, Sabrina credits her support system for aiding her through the toughest moments.

Looking ahead, Sabrina finds solace in Isaiah 41:10, a scripture that provided her with daily comfort during chemotherapy sessions. Eager to assist others facing similar battles, Sabrina and her husband initiated an annual breast cancer walk called "Paint the Town Pink," raising over $5,000 in its inaugural year for organizations like the American Cancer Society and Pink Heart Funds. Presently, they are endeavoring to establish a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of early breast cancer detection among women.
