Adrian Murry

In August 2015, Adrian Murry participated in Friends and Family Day at her church. During the event, a special seed offering was collected for the Minister of Music, Michael Minor, who required a kidney transplant. Although Adrian was not acquainted with Michael personally, his story deeply moved her, prompting her to contribute. Unfortunately, Adrian found herself without anything to give at the offering moment. However, she retained the offering envelope with hopeful anticipation of contributing in the near future. Unbeknownst to Adrian, her offering would soon turn out to be the blessing that Michael had fervently prayed for and believed would come from God.

While attending a football game's tailgate party, Adrian received distressing news that her son, Kendrick, had been rushed to the hospital following an accident. Tragically, a week later on September 12, 2015, Kendrick passed away. As any mother would be, Adrian was devastated and overwhelmed with grief at the loss of her son. Still reeling from the news, Adrian was approached by a hospital staff member, urging her to complete paperwork promptly. Despite her shock and eagerness to return home to comfort her daughters, Adrian agreed to finish the paperwork on the spot, as Kendrick had been a registered organ donor, a fact of which she was initially unaware. With a heavy heart, Adrian signed the necessary documents, including a DESIGNATED DONOR FORM, allowing her to specify a particular organ recipient.

Struggling to cope with the sudden loss of Kendrick, Adrian initially couldn't think of anyone in need of an organ. However, as she left the hospital, the thought of Michael Minor crossed her mind, prompting her to inform the Donor Coordinator. Tests confirmed Michael as a match, prompting swift action. Despite not knowing Michael personally, Adrian mobilized her contacts to locate him, eventually reaching him while he was tailgating at a football game. In a whirlwind of events, Michael provided the necessary information, and the transplant surgery was set in motion.

In the midst of her grief, Adrian found solace in knowing that Kendrick's legacy would live on through the lives of Michael and five other organ recipients. Although her pain was profound, Adrian drew strength from her daughters and the support of others. Through this ordeal, Adrian discovered a newfound purpose in advocating for organ donation, finding hope in the midst of tragedy.
